These Terms & Conditions govern the use of services provided by Enliven Counselling Center (“Enliven”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), operated by Dr. Fatima Abdullah, licensed psychologist, Dubai, UAE. By booking a session or using our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Our Services

Enliven Counselling Center provides individual, couples, and family counselling and psychotherapy services, both in-person (Dubai and Sharjah) and online across the UAE. Services are provided by qualified mental health professionals and are intended to support emotional wellbeing, personal growth, and psychological resilience.

Your first session is a discovery session that serves as a structured introduction. Together we explore what brings you to therapy and agree the most appropriate next steps. This may include ongoing work at Enliven or, where clinically appropriate, guidance or referral to other services so that you can access the care that best meets your needs.

Our services do not constitute emergency mental health care, psychiatric medication management, or inpatient services. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please contact UAE emergency services on 999 or attend the nearest hospital emergency department.

2. Appointments & Cancellations

• Booking: all sessions must be booked in advance via our website, WhatsApp, or phone. A booking is confirmed only once you receive a written confirmation from us.
• Cancellation notice: we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment without charge. This allows us to offer the slot to other clients in need.
• Late cancellations & no-shows: cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled session, or missed appointments without notice, are charged the full session fee.
• Late arrivals: sessions begin and end at the scheduled time. Late arrivals will receive the remaining session time; the full fee still applies.
• Our right to cancel: in exceptional circumstances (therapist illness, force majeure), we may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. We will provide as much notice as possible and offer a rescheduled session or full refund.

3. Payment & Fees

• Discovery session: AED 500 for an initial 50-minute discovery session to assess fit and discuss your goals.
• Programme fees: programme and package prices are as displayed on our website at the time of booking. Prices are in UAE Dirhams (AED) and inclusive of VAT where applicable.
• Payment timing: payment is due at the time of booking or before the session begins, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Accepted methods: we accept cash, bank transfer, and card payments. Details will be provided at booking.
• Session length & extensions: sessions run for the agreed time. Where clinically appropriate and mutually agreed, a session may extend beyond the scheduled time; any additional time is billed on a prorated basis, in line with professional practice.
• Communication outside sessions: brief administrative contact is welcome at no charge. Where contact outside sessions involves therapeutic input or clinical consideration, this time is billed in accordance with standard professional practice.

4. Refunds

Sessions cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice are eligible for a full refund or credit toward a future session. Prepaid packages and structured therapeutic programmes are non-refundable, as consistency and engagement are important contributors to therapeutic progress. Refunds for sessions cancelled on our side (therapist cancellation) will be processed within 7 business days to the original payment method.

5. Confidentiality

Everything you share in your sessions is strictly confidential. We do not disclose any information about you to third parties without your explicit written consent, except in the following legally and professionally mandated circumstances:

• Risk of harm: if we have reasonable belief that you or another person (including a child) is at serious risk of harm, we are obligated to take appropriate action, which may include notifying relevant authorities.
• Child protection: under UAE law, we are mandatory reporters of suspected child abuse or neglect.
• Court order: we may be required to disclose records if compelled by a valid court order.
• Clinical supervision: therapists may discuss cases with qualified clinical supervisors on an anonymised basis for professional development purposes.

These limits of confidentiality will always be discussed with you at the outset of therapy.

6. Online Sessions

• Online sessions are conducted via secure video platforms. You are responsible for ensuring a private, quiet environment and a stable internet connection.
• You must not record sessions without the therapist’s explicit prior written consent.
• Online therapy may not be appropriate for all presentations. Your therapist will discuss suitability with you at the discovery session.
• If a session is interrupted due to technical difficulties on our side, we will reschedule at no additional cost. Technical difficulties on the client’s side do not entitle a refund for time lost.

7. Disclaimer & Limitations

Counselling and psychotherapy are evidence-based practices that can significantly improve wellbeing; however, results vary by individual. We make no guarantees of specific outcomes. Our services are not a substitute for:

• Emergency medical or psychiatric care.
• Diagnosis or treatment of medical conditions.
• Prescription or management of psychiatric medication.
• Legal, financial, or medical advice.

To the fullest extent permitted by UAE law, Enliven Counselling Center shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use or inability to use our services.

8. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Emirate of Dubai, UAE.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on our website.
