EMDR Therapy in Dubai
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing — a breakthrough evidence-based approach for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, phobias, and more.
What Is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories. Using bilateral stimulation — guided eye movements or gentle tapping — EMDR enables the brain to integrate traumatic experiences so they lose their emotional charge.
Developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, EMDR is now endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO), the American Psychological Association (APA), and NICE (UK) as a first-line treatment for PTSD. Research consistently shows it works faster than many traditional talk therapies, often producing lasting results in fewer sessions.

What to Expect in an EMDR Session
Assessment & Preparation
Dr. Fatima builds a full picture of your history and goals. Together you develop coping tools and establish safety before processing begins.
Reprocessing
Using guided bilateral stimulation, you revisit the target memory in a structured, contained way. The brain begins to integrate and file the experience differently.
Closure & Integration
Each session ends with grounding. Between sessions, the brain continues to process. Many clients notice shifts in their thinking, sleep, and emotional responses.
